Robert Joseph Farnon CM(July 24, 1917 – April 23, 2005) was a Canadian-born composer, conductor, musical arranger and trumpet player. As well as being a composer of original works (often in the light music genre), he was commissioned by film and television producers for theme and incidental music. In later life he composed a number of more serious orchestral works, including three symphonies, and was recognised with four Ivor Novello awards and the Order of Canada.

  • Robert Joseph Farnon (Toronto, Canada, 24 juli 1917 - 23 april 2005) was een Canadese componist van vooral lichte orkestmuziek. Hij was ook dirigent, arrangeur en trompettist. Hij schreef onder meer voor tv en film. Hij werd gezien als een van de beste arrangeurs van zijn tijd, de jaren vijftig en zestig. In zijn latere leven legde hij zich meer toe op serieuzer werk. Zo schreef hij drie symfonieën. Met zijn arrangementen had hij veel invloed op tijdgenoten, onder wie Quincy Jones. Dirigent André Previn noemde Farnon de 'beste componist voor strijkers ter wereld'.
