Camille Pleyel, né le 18 décembre 1788 à Strasbourg, mort le 4 mai 1855 à Paris, est un musicien français, directeur de la compagnie musicale Pleyel, fondateur en 1830 de la première « salle Pleyel ». Joseph Étienne Camille Pleyel (December 18, 1788 – May 4, 1855) was a French virtuoso pianist, publisher, and owner of Pleyel et Cie. He also ran a concert hall, the Salle Pleyel, where Frédéric Chopin played the first and last of his concerts in Paris. The youngest son of Ignace Joseph Pleyel, he studied with Jan Dussek. He became a partner of his father in 1815 and owner of the firm after his death in 1831. His salons hosted the greatest talents of his day in France. Pleyel provided pianos to Frédéric Chopin. Joseph Etienne Camille Pleyel (18 de diciembre de 1788 - 4 de mayo de 1855) fue un pianista virtuoso francés y dueño de la Firma de Fabricación de Pianos Pleyel. Hijo menor de Ignace Joseph Pleyel, estudió con Jan Dussek. Se convirtió en socio de su padre en 1815 y luego dueño de la firma a la muerte de aquel. La Maison Pleyel acogió a los talentos mayores de su época e fue innovadora en la perfección de sus instrumentos. Proporcionó los pianos a Frédéric Chopin. Uno de estos instrumentos fue el pianino que envió a Mallorca en 1838 y que en la actualidad está expuesto en la celda 4 de la Cartuja de Valldemossa. Construyó una moderna sala de conciertos, la Salle Pleyel, en la que Chopin tocó el primero y el último de sus conciertos en París.
