Monnot begann ihre Karriere im Alter von drei Jahren, mit 16 Jahren studierte sie am Pariser Konservatorium. Mit 22 Jahren wandte sie sich dem Chanson zu. Mit Raymond Asso realisierte sie 1936 Mon légionnaire und Le Fanion de la Légion. Sie arbeitete mit Édith Piaf zusammen, für die sie große Erfolge wie Milord und Hymne à l’amour komponierte. Mit dem Musical Irma la Douce konnte sie ihr internationales Ansehen weiter ausbauen. Marguerite Monnot (nacida el 28 de mayo de 1903 en Decize, Nièvre y fallecida el 12 de octubre de 1961 en París) fue una pianista y compositora francesa de canciones y música para películas.
