Luisa Tetrazzini (29 June 1871 – 28 April 1940) was an Italian coloratura soprano of great international fame. Tetrazzini's voice was remarkable for its phenomenal flexibility, thrust, steadiness and thrilling tone. She enjoyed a highly successful operatic and concert career in Europe and America from the 1890s through to the 1920s, but her final years were marred by poverty and ill health.

Debutó a los 19 años como Inez en La Africana de Meyerbeer en el Pagliano de Florencia. Entre 1891 y 1906 cantó en Italia, España, Suramérica, México y Europa oriental hasta su debut en el Covent Garden en 1908 con La Traviata donde retornó en 1912. En el Metropolitan Opera cantó entre 1911-1912 como Lucía, Gilda y Violetta. Tuvo tres maridos que dilapidaron su fortuna, muriendo en la más absoluta miseria en un asilo de ancianos. (es)
