Narciso Martínez (October 29, 1911 in Reynosa, Mexico – June 5, 1992 in San Benito, Texas), given the nickname, El Huracan del Valle ("The Hurricane of the Valley"), by a furniture dealer and talent broker nameed Enrique Valentin, began recording in 1935 (or 1936) and is the father of conjunto music. Apodado "El Huracán del Valle", empezó a grabar en 1936, y es pionero la música de conjunto tejano que incluye acordeón, bajo sexto y contrabajo, similar al conjunto norteño de México. Don Narciso, el primer artista de grabación exitoso en el género de conjunto tejano, realizó cientos de grabaciones de piezas instrumentales bailables enfatizando la parte melódica del acordeón y dejando la parte de bajeo a su tocador de bajo sexto Santiago Almeida.
