Cor de Groot (July 7, 1914 – May 26, 1993) was a Dutch pianist and composer. He was born in Amsterdam. He studied piano with Egbert Veen and Ulferts Schults, and composition and conducting under Sem Dresden. In 1932 he graduated with highest honours, playing a piano concerto written by himself. After becoming a soloist with the Concertgebouw Orchestra, he won the fifth prize at the 1936 international contest for pianists in Vienna. He played all over the world and his recordings are often considered as musical "treasures". He was a member of the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition's jury in 1956.

Aanvankelijk studeerde De Groot piano bij Egbert Veen en Ulfert Schults.Tijdens zijn conservatoriumtijd studeerde hij compositie en directie bij Sem Dresden. De Groot zelf gaf op zijn beurt weer pianoles aan Lex van Delden. In 1936 won hij de vijfde prijs op het internationaal bekende concours voor pianisten in Wenen. Van 1938 tot 1946 was hij docent aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. (nl)

  • コル・デ・フロート(Cor de Groot, 1914年7月7日 - 1993年5月26日)は、オランダ出身のピアノ奏者、作曲家。本名はコルネリス・ウィルヘルムス・デ・フロート(Cornelis Wilhelmus de Groot)。 アムステルダムの生まれ。アムステルダム音楽院でエフベルト・フェーンとウルフェルツ・シュルツにピアノを学び、セム・ドレスデンに作曲を師事した。1934年から演奏活動をはじめ、アムステルダム・コンセルトヘボウ管弦楽団をはじめとするオランダ有数のオーケストラと共演してピアニストとしての地歩を固めた。1936年にウィーン国際ピアノ・コンクールで一位を獲得し、1938年からハーグ音楽院で教鞭をとるようになった。第二次世界大戦後は、欧米各地で演奏活動を展開したが、1959年に神経障害で右手を使えなくなり、以降は左手のみのピアニストとして活動した。両手用のピアノ作品の左手用編曲も精力的に行った。 アムステルダムにて没。 (ja)
