Arne Dørumsgaard (7 December 1921 – 13 March 2006) was a Norwegian composer, poet, translator and music collector. He was born in Fredrikstad. He composed melodies to more than 100 songs. His translations of Ancient Oriental poetry into Norwegian language was published in 25 volumes between 1951 and 1985. His collection of sound recordings was among the world's largest private such collections. He was awarded the Bastian Prize in 1979, and was appointed honorary doctor of literature in Taipei in 1982. He was decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1994. He died in Marzio, Italy in 2006.

  • È autore di composizioni eclettiche, è stato cantante nella serie di dischi in vinile della casa musicale parigina "Chant Du monde", per la quale dal 1950 al 1955 ha inciso numerosi brani cantati, nonché ha suonato brani dei principali autori scandinavi. Il suo brano di musica folk più famoso, inciso in lingua finlandese, è Kullan Ylistys (La canzone dell'innamorato) motivo tradizionale finlandese ripreso anche da Björk in uno dei suoi CD. Il brano è riproposto in numerosi collezioni e compilation di musica tradizionale scandinava. (it)
