An den Konservatorien seiner Heimatstadt und in Madrid absolvierte er dann seine musikalische Ausbildung, die er durch Meisterkurse in den USA und das Studium bei Hans Swarowsky in Wien vervollständigte. Für sein künstlerisches Engagement wurde er 1995 durch den spanischen König Juan Carlos mit dem Komtur-Orden ausgezeichnet. (de)
