Hieronymus Praetorius (10 August 1560 – 27 January 1629) was a north German composer and organist of the late Renaissance and very early Baroque eras. He was not related to the much more famous Michael Praetorius, though the Praetorius family had many distinguished musicians throughout the 16th and 17th centuries.

Сын и ученик композитора Якоба Преториуса-старшего, отец Якоба Преториуса-младшего, однофамилец (не родственник) Михаэля Преториуса. Провёл в Гамбурге почти всю жизнь — за вычетом учёбы в Кёльне и двухлетней (1580—1582) службы органистом в Эрфурте. В 1586 г. унаследовал от своего отца должность титулярного органиста гамбургской церкви Санкт-Якоби и занимал её до конца жизни. Автор многочисленных месс, мотетов, органной музыки. (ru)
