Baligh Hamdi (Arabic: بليغ حمدي‎‎) (7 October 1931 – 17 September 1993) was an Egyptian composer who created hit songs for many prominent Arabic singers, especially during the 1960s and 1970s.

  • Baligh Abdel Hamid Hamdi Morsi (حمدي، بليغ Balīġ Ḥamdī, * 7. Oktober 1932 in Kairo; † 17. September 1993 in Paris) war ein ägyptischer Komponist. Hamdi war der Sohn eines Physikprofessors und hatte ab dem neunten Lebensjahr Klavier- und Violinunterricht, einige Jahre später kam die Oud hinzu. Er besuchte AbdelHafid Amams Klasse für traditionelle Musik und studierte neben dem Besuch des Gymnasiums Musik bei Derwish ElHariri. Er begann dann ein Jurastudium, setzte jedoch seine musikalische Ausbildung fort, bis er 1954 eine professionelle Laufbahn als Musiker begann. (de)

  • ولد بليغ بن عبد الحميد حمدي مرسي في حي شبرا بالقاهرة في 7 أكتوبر 1931 وكان والده يعمل أستاذا للفيزياء في جامعة فؤاد الأول (جامعة القاهرة حاليا).أتقن العزف علي العود وهو في التاسعة من العمر. في سن الثانية عشر حاول الالتحاق بمعهد فؤاد الأول للموسيقي إلا أن سنه الصغير حال دون ذلك. التحق بمدرسه شبرا الثانوية، في الوقت الذي كان يدرس فيه أصول الموسيقى في مدرسه عبد الحفيظ امام للموسيقى الشرقية، ثم تتلمذ بعد ذلك على يد درويش الحريرى وتعرف من خلاله على الموشحات العربية. التحق بليغ بكلية الحقوق، وفي نفس الوقت، التحق بشكل أكاديمي بمعهد فؤاد الأول للموسيقي (معهد الموسيقى العربية حاليا).
