- Alexandre Desplat, né le 23 août 1961 à Paris, est un compositeur français de musique de films. Composant pour des films et téléfilms français depuis 1985, il se fait remarquer à l'international en 2003 avec la bande originale de La Jeune Fille à la perle. Il est alors de plus en plus demandé à l'étranger notamment par le cinéma américain, et se met à travailler pour de grands réalisateurs et sur des films à gros budget. Il est le compositeur régulier de nombreux réalisateurs tels que Jacques Audiard, Wes Anderson, Roman Polanski et Stephen Frears. Il a également écrit la musique de documentaires, de pièces de théâtre et de spectacles, et a composé une symphonie concertante. (fr)
