Johann Baptist Cramer (24 February 1771 – 16 April 1858) was an English pianist and composer of German origin. He was the son of Wilhelm Cramer, a famous London violinist and musical conductor, one of a numerous family who were identified with the progress of music during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Cramer werd geboren in Mannheim, als zoon van Wilhelm Cramer, een succesvol violist van de Mannheimer Kapelle. Het gezin verhuisde naar Londen toen Cramer nog jong was. Cramer kreeg, samen met zijn broer Franz, vioolles van zijn vader. Cramer componeerde vooral muziek voor de piano, waaronder meer dan honderd sonates en 8 pianoconcerten. Het meest bekend zijn echter zijn etudes voor piano die nog steeds gebruikt worden door pianisten in training. (nl)

В 1846 издана его школа для изучения игры на фортепиано. Писал также концерты для фортепиано и оркестра, дуэты для фортепиано и арфы, квинтеты и множество других произведений.
