Jan Hanuš Sitt, known as Hans Sitt, (21 September 1850, Prague – 10 March 1922, Leipzig), was a Bohemian violinist, violist, teacher, and composer. During his lifetime, he was regarded as one of the foremost teachers of violin. Most of the orchestras and conservatories of Europe and North America then sported personnel who numbered among his students.

Hijo de un constructor de violines, estudió en el Conservatorio de Praga y en 1867 entró como violín solista en la orquesta del teatro de Breslavia, que dirigió más tarde, como también los de Praga y Chemnitz. Posteriormente organizó los conciertos populares de Leipzig; en 1883 fue nombrado profesor del conservatorio de dicha ciudad, donde tuvo alumnos destacados como Jakob Kostakovsky. Formó parte como viola del cuarteto Brodsky. (es)

  • ハンス・ジット（Hans Sitt, 1850年9月21日 - 1922年3月10日）は、ボヘミア出身のヴァイオリニスト・作曲家・音楽教師。エドヴァルド・グリーグの《ノルウェー舞曲集》（原曲はピアノ連弾用の作品）に管弦楽法を施した。 著名なヴァイオリン製造家を父親にプラハに生まれた。早くから楽才を顕したが、プラハ音楽院でヴァイオリンと作曲を学ぶようになるまでは、両親の判断によってギムナジウムで通常の教育を受けた。その後はソリストとして成功を収めた後、17歳にしてブレスラウ歌劇場管弦楽団のコンサートマスターに抜擢された。さらにフランスやオーストリア、ドイツで指揮者としても活動した。 ヴァイオリン教師としても認められ、当時の欧米のオーケストラや音楽学校の大半が、ジットの門下生を獲得せんと張り合った。1883年よりライプツィヒ音楽院ヴァイオリン科の教授に就き、ヴァイオリン教則本を執筆した。そのいくつかは今なお利用されている。 ライプツィヒで没した。 (ja)
