Ernst Mielck (24 October 1877 – 22 October 1899) was a Finnish composer. Mielck was born in Vyborg. He started piano lessons at the age of ten; in 1891 he was sent to Berlin, where he studied under Max Bruch, one of the leading composers of the period. Bruch said of Mielck that he had "an easy, felicitous, and remarkable flair for invention." Mielck returned to Finland in 1896. Three years later he died of tuberculosis in Switzerland, just short of his 22nd birthday.

  • Ernst Leopold Christian Mielck (* 24. Oktober 1877 in Wyborg, finnisch Viipuri; † 22. Oktober 1899 in Locarno) war ein finnischer Komponist und Pianist. Mielck war der Sohn eines deutschstämmigen Kaufmanns und einer finnlandschwedischen Mutter. Das Elternhaus war stark kulturell und musikalisch ausgerichtet, so dass der von Anfang an schwächliche und kränkliche Sohn Ernst (erst) mit 10 Jahren auch den ersten Klavierunterricht bei Albert Tietz in Wyborg erhielt. 1891 wurde er zur weiteren musikalischen Ausbildung nach Berlin an das Stern’sche Konservatorium gesandt. Er blieb mit Unterbrechungen bis 1898 in Berlin und wurde dort auch Privatschüler von Max Bruch, der sich höchst lobend über ihn äußerte. (de)
