Davide Perez (1711 – 30 October 1778) was an Italian opera composer born in Naples of Italian parents, and later resident court composer at Lisbon from 1752. He staged three operas on librettos of Metastasio at Lisbon with huge success in 1753, 1754, and 1755. Following the 1755 Lisbon earthquake, Perez turned from opera mostly to church music.

Perez compuso una treintena de óperas, caracterizadas por la gran elaboración de las partes instrumentales y la riqueza armónica y rítmica, que subrayan el fuerte discurso dramático, como se transmite claramente en Il Solimano (1757). También fue autor de música sacra, considerada por algunos estudiosos cualitativamente superior a su producción teatral, calificada de menos original. En aquel campo destacan su oratorio Il martirio di San Bartolomeo y un Te Deum. (es)

Estudou violino com Antonio Gallo, um dos melhores violinistas italianos da época, e contraponto com Francisco Mancini, mestre do Conservatório de Loreto. David Perez exerceu uma grande influência nos compositores portugueses florescidos nos finais do século XVIII e princípios XIX. Em todos eles, inclusive, Marcos Portugal se nota influência. A sua assinatura na Irmandade de S. Cecília consta com a data de 28 de Setembro de 1756. (pt)
