Marlos Nobre (born February 18, 1939 in Recife, Pernambuco) is a Brazilian composer. He has received commissions from numerous institutions, including the Ministry of Culture in Spain, the Free University of Music of São Paulo, the Neuchâtel Chamber Orchestra in Switzerland, The Apollon Foundation in Bremen, Germany and the Maracaibo Music Festival in Venezuela. He has also sat on the juries of numerous international music competitions, including the Cità di Alessandria Prize and the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition.

  • Marlos Nobre (* 18. Februar 1939 in Recife) ist ein brasilianischer Komponist. Nobre studierte von 1945 bis 1959 am Konservatorium und der Universität von Recife. Danach war er Schüler von Hans Joachim Koellreutter und Mozart Camargo Guarnieri sowie in Buenos Aires von Alberto Ginastera, Olivier Messiaen, Riccardo Malipiero und Luigi Dallapiccola. Seit 1968 arbeitete er im Laboratorium für Elektronische Musik der Columbia University, danach wurde er Leiter des Rundfunks des brasilianischen Kulturministeriums. Seit 1992 unterrichtet er als Gastprofessor an der Yale University. (de)

Em 2005 Marlos Nobre recebeu por unanimidade o importante Prêmio Tomás Luís de Victoria, na Espanha, atribuido pela por unanimidade pela primeira em sua história. Na entrega do prêmio foi lançado o livro Marlos Nobre: El sonido del realismo mágico, de Tomás Marco, editado pela Fundación Autor de Madrid, 222 páginas. (pt)
