Alexander Markov is a Russian American violinist who has received awards from the Paganini International Violin Competition (gold medal) and the Avery Fisher Career Grant. He is known for his recording of Paganini's 24 Caprices for Solo Violin, particularly for his interpretation of the left-hand pizzicato section of the 24th Caprice. A film of Markov playing the Caprices was directed by Bruno Monsaingeon.

Muy joven, emigró a Estados Unidos en compañía de sus padres, obteniendo la nacionalidad norteamericana en 1982. Fuera de la música clásica ha compuesto en colaboración con James V.   • Alexander Markov (en russe : Александр Марков, né le 24 janvier 1963 à Moscou) est un violoniste américain d'origine russe. Il poursuit ses études musicales avec son père, le violoniste concertiste Albert Markov. À l'âge de 8 ans, il joue déjà en soliste avec des orchestres et interprète des doubles concertos avec son père. Il émigre aux États-Unis avec ses parents et reçoit la nationalité américaine en 1982. Il fait ses débuts en récital à New York au Carnegie Hall, puis au Avery Fisher Hall sous la direction de Christoph Eschenbach avec l'orchestre du festival Mostly Mozart. (fr)
